Blessing

We had the boys named and blessed by my dad at church.  It was a wonderful day.  The blessings were very sweet and lovely.  PLUS, neither boy cried during the blessings.  Magnus was a bit fussy afterwards, so Nate ended up walking the halls with him for the rest of the church service.  Ragnar slept through it.  We had our friends and family to the house after for a celebration.  Here are some pictures from that day.

Seattle

We explored the Ballard Locks in Seattle while my family was visiting.  This was Magnus' and Ragnar's first trip to Seattle.  They slept for the majority of the drive and ALL of the time at the locks.

First Visits

Last weekend my family flew to Seattle for Magnus' and Ragnar's naming & blessing.  They got to town on Friday and were able to visit with us until Monday.  It was the first time they met their Grumpa, Great-Grandma and Uncle Spencer.

3 Months

Today is the boys' 3-month birthday. They are really starting to show distinct personalities and are interacting with things much more.  Here are a few observations about the boys at 2 months along with some photos.

Magnus:

• Moved to 0-3 M clothing
• Has a bald spot on his head from lying in the same direction all the time
• Loves bath time and bubble baths in particular
• Loves staring at all light fixtures
• Enjoys looking at his reflection
• Laughs in his sleep
• Notices his brother and smiles at him
• Laughs when doing Itsy Bitsy Spider, and will laugh in anticipation when you start to play it
• Sucking on his hands to soothe himself but hasn't quite figured out his thumb
• Lifts his head up during tummy time
• Reaches and grabs for toys

Ragnar:

• Wears size 1diapers
• Wears 0-3 M and 3-month clothing
• Has very little patience when hungry
• Sucks on his hands to soothe himself and can get a thumb in his mouth 20% of the time
• Loves Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
• Notices the dogs and likes to watch them, smiles at them
• Super kicker - loves to kick fast and hard
• Notices and enjoys his reflection in the mirror
• Can grab and hold on to toys
• Can pull his Bink out of his mouth and can put it back in
• Smiles when he sees his Bink
• Moved to sleep in Pack N' Play

Both

• Social smiling, giggles and coos- responding when seeing Mama or Papa
• Love car rides
• Very cuddly
• Removed newborn inserts from car seats
• Both have slept through the night at least once (not at the same time, and not consistently)
• Loves staring at the photo prints on the wall and smiles and talks to them
• Blow spit bubbles
• Both had their first cold
• Taking 1 nap a day in their cribs at the same time (overlap sometimes 10 minutes)
• Both focus on the pages of books when reading to them
• Better control over arms and legs
• Sleep un-swaddled
