Magnus' First Bang Trim

Magnus was VERY frustrated the entire time I was trimming Ragnar's hair.  The following night after dinner I trimmed Magnus' bangs. 

He was very happy to be the center of attention.  It took me two snips to tidy up his bangs.  I plan on letting his hair in the back continue to grow.  It is very curly and most days looks adorable. 

Ragnar's First Hair Cut

Ragnar's hair has been getting a bit crazy and out-of-control.  I loved the curl it was getting in the back, but he had two really long areas around his ears and towards the back that were MUCH longer than the back of his hair. 

I decided to trim those areas and his bangs for his first haircut.  We put him in his highchair to contain him and I trimmed the sides.  I accidentally nicked his left ear, and it bled a ton!  I felt so bad, but he cried for half a second and then was fine.  We had to have Nate hold him for me to trim the back. 

I think it turned out ok.  Luckily, his hair is wavy/curly and covers up my ineptitude at barbering.

My hope is that the back of his hair will now grow in a bit more even and his curl will come back once it's a bit longer.

15 Month Update

It’s hard to believe that the boys are 15 months old now.  They are really exploring the world around them.  With both boys walking we are spending almost every day outside either in the yard playing or at a park.

Magnus

• Size 4 diapers and size 4 overnight diapers
• 12 M pants, 12 M onesies/shirts, 12 M sleepers
• Words: row, row (as in row, row, row your boat)
• Walks and is close to running
• Has great balance and usually walks to get where he wants to go
• Climbs on anything he can pull himself up on
• Has shown an interest in sorting: toys, rocks, books
• Uses his words combined with pointing and actions to communicate
• Signs and says “all done” at the end of meals
• Cuddle bug

Ragnar

• Size 4 diapers and size 4 overnight diapers
• 12 M pants, 12 M onesies/shirts, 12 M sleepers
• Words: vroom, row, row
• Walks everywhere! 
• Climbs on everything and has great balance
• Loves to “help” with laundry, cleaning up, sorting
• Signs “all done” at the end of meals
• Shrugs his shoulders and holds up his hands to indicate "I don't know"
• Squeals and smiles when he gives hugs and cuddles

Both

• OBSESSED with books.  They love to turn the pages on their own and have them read to them.  Current favorites are: I am a Bunny, Good morning/Good night and A,B,C Toolbox
• Explore everything! 
• Love playing in the front yard
• Enjoy outings to the park
• Play with each other and us all day long

Easter

The boys really enjoyed Easter this year.  They had presents to open from Great-Grandma and Gramsie and Grumpa.  They had an Easter basket with a little chocolate bunny and books from the Easter bunny, and they had an egg hunt in the front yard after church for shaky eggs.  We had Bart and his new puppy Bauer over for Easter dinner and were able to Kinnect with the UT family.  A great day overall.

Milestone!

This morning for the first time ever, Magnus recognized he had dirtied his diaper.  Neither of the boys have ever been upset with dirty diapers and so I assumed that it would be a LONG haul when we started potty training.  Now I have hope that maybe when we do start potty training (months from now) it won't be as long of a haul.  (I can dream, can't I?)  Magnus was sitting on the floor, dirtied his diaper, pointed to it then babbled at me.  I said, "your diaper?" and he nodded then got up and walked over to the gate that leads to the nursery.  Amazing.  He is an amazing boy.  I'm one proud Mama.

15 Month Well Baby Visit

We just got home from Magnus' and Ragnar's 15 month well baby appointment with our pediatrician.  They were very active and climbing on everything and getting into anything they could find.  They are both doing great and Dr Winch didn't have any concerns.  They had two immunizations and only cried a tiny bit with each one.
