Cardboard Box Fun

We had a package delivered in a large cardboard box this past week.  After emptying it of the contents I left the box out for the boys to discover after they got up from their afternoon nap.  There are so many things you can do with a box.

You can push it. You can climb in it. You can play peek-a-boo. You can hide. You can drum on it. You can play with your toys in it. You can chew on it. (And eventually eat parts of it!) When they started eating it became apparent that it was time to recycle the box.  It was a lot of fun while it lasted and kept us busy all afternoon.

Exploring

One thing I LOVE about little ones is that everything is new to them. Something that I walk by half a dozen times a day is amazing and fascinating to them.
Magnus "wow!"
Yesterday afternoon we headed out to our front yard to explore. Now that they are both walking, I thought it would be fun to walk around the yard/driveway/sidewalk and enjoy the fresh air. Magnus was quite the walker and very independent for most of our time outside. He needed a bit of help walking down our steep driveway, but other than that he walked on his own.

Ragnar was very resistant to the idea of walking outside. He held my hand to walk and many times I ended up carrying him.

The big fascination of the day was rocks.  They would find a rock, pick it up, try to eat it or lick it (if I wasn't fast enough to stop them) and then carry it around for a bit before dropping it for the next rock.

Magnus - yummy rocks

Magnus had to show me each rock he picked up right before he tried stuffing them in his mouth.

Magnus "check out what I found!"
The other fascination was the "bloated toad" statue in our front flower (weed) bed.  They stacked rocks on it, poked it and eventually knocked it over.
