Weeks 18-20

The boys are sporting hats from their Devenuti Auntie's. Magnus was sad to have a hat on his head. But I love his little sad face, too, too cute!

This week we put the boys in their Minnesota Viking one pieces from their Grandma & Grandpa Helgren. They also are wearing their Viking hats made by their Gramsie. They were both really happy for this photo shoot.... that is until Magnus tried to eat Ragnar's hand. (A pretty common occurrence at our house these days!)

Magnus and Ragnar finally fit in 3–6-month-old size onesies. It's exciting to have new shirts for them to wear. These shirts we bought while I was still pregnant, and we weren't sure if the boys were identical or fraternal twins. The copy/paste isn't accurate, but they are still very cute shirts! We had super smiley boys for the photos.

Mobility

This is how I left the boys in their room while I cleaned the living room:

Ragnar squealed when I asked him how he got all the way across the room. He had serious rug burn on the back of his head. I'm guessing he did his roll/wiggle/scoot to move that fast like that. Magnus was happily playing with the baby gym and kicking away, which I'm sure is how his socks came off.

4 Months

Happy 4-month birthday Magnus & Ragnar!! We celebrated their birthday by having their 4 months well baby checkup. It went well and our pediatrician is pleased by their progress. Go babies! Here are some pictures from their 4-month photo shoot & our observations from this past month.

Magnus:

Weight: 12 lbs. 15 oz - 25%
Height: 24.6" - 50%
Head Circumference: 16.6" - 50%
Size 1 diapers
0-3 M and 3-month clothing
Has a flat spot on the back of his head from looking to the left while sleeping

Dr is aware and not concerned at this point. We do exercises and stretches with him to get him looking to the right.

Still a HUGE fan of mirrors
Laughs in his sleep- actually WOKE himself up by laughing the other day
Sucks on his fingers to soothe himself and rubs his head while falling asleep
Rarely keeps his pacifier in- likes to pull it out and throw it across the room
Lifts his head and legs up and balances (rocks) on his tummy during tummy time
Reaches and grabs for toys and brings them to his mouth
Strings coos together “uh-oh”

Super kicker – loves to “jump” when being held

Grabs toys and brings them to his mouth
LOVES his pacifier
Rolled over from tummy to back (Papa witnessed)

Sleeping through the night more consistently

Blow spit bubbles
All naps are in their individual cribs during the day- 1^st two naps of the day usually overlap 30-60 minutes
Both focus on the pages of books when reading to them & reach out to touch them
Better control over arms and legs
Scoot around crib by pushing with their heels
Love music- they “sing” along
Love nursery rhymes and finger plays
Notice each other more each day
Smile at each other
Hold hands while nursing
