Magnus and Ragnar are now 8 months old. They are changing and growing at an amazing rate. Their curiosity with the surrounding world continues to grow and they love exploration. We've had to babyproof the large great room of the house to give them a safe place to move and explore. In the last month they also had their first long road trip from Sammamish to Sandy.
Magnus:
- Size 3 diaper
- 3-6 M & 6 M pants/shorts, 6-month onesies, 6–9-month sleepers
- Navigates the floor by rolling and scooting but prefers sitting in one place to play
- His feet are ticklish now
- Upper teeth are starting to come in (2)
- Calm demeanor
- Can sit unassisted for long periods of time
- Enjoys swings at the park
- Quickly falls asleep
- Crawled for the first time on all fours, but after he fell over decided not to try it again.
- Likes to "dance"
- New foods he likes: chicken, watermelon, breads, soups of all kinds
Ragnar:
- Size 3 diaper
- 3-6 M & 6 M pants, 6-month onesies, 6–9-month sleepers
- Navigates the floor by rolling, scooting, sliding, pulling. He is FAST!
- Does not like to sit still, he can sit unassisted but prefers not to
- Will seek out mama and papa if they are not in sight but he can hear them
- Very curious about electronic objects
- “Talks” a lot
- “Sings” along to music
- Prefers activities to books
- New foods he likes: Soups, watermelon, rice, quinoa
Both
- Are fussy on the diaper changing table
- “talk” to each other all day and at night (when they should be sleeping in their cribs)
- Love going on walks
- Are starting to be a little shy with people they don't know
- Stand with assistance
- Typically, only wake once a night for feeding
- Love baths and splashing
- Love getting water flicked into their face at bathtime
- Sing along with their special Mama and Papa songs
- Are aware of the dogs and watch them when the dogs are active and giggle at them
- Reach out to be picked up by Mama and Papa
- Give hugs and “kisses” (open mouth slobbering)
- Giggle and smile at each other throughout the day
- Very jealous of each other- when one is being held by Mama the other not being held fusses and reaches out to be held. BUT when both are then being held, they push each other to be the ONLY one.
