Pumpkin Carving

I decided we would do our pumpkin carving as an activity on Family Home Evening.  Nate had a late meeting he had to take in the office, so it ended up being me and the boys.

I cut the top off of the pumpkins and let them explore.  Ragnar was really interested in putting his hand in and touching the pumpkin insides.  Magnus liked looking but wasn't interested in touching.

I showed them how to scoop the insides out and then had them help.

After the insides were clean I asked them what type of pumpkin faces they wanted.  Ragnar told me he wanted a scary pumpkin.  Magnus wanted a surprised pumpkin.  I tried to oblige.

Once they were carved Magnus and Ragnar tried to fit the face pieces back into the pumpkin (like the shape sorter).

It was a very fun night.
